Oldham game

Postby zenfootball » Thu Sep 14, 2017 6:00 pm

town are on there travels against oldham it would be easy to just say they have had a poor start but if you look at who they have played they have lost three games to teams in the top seven, they are starting to improve they drew with Fleetwood and have just recorded there first win against Bristol Rovers ,clearly they would wont back to back wins and there first home win as we know success breeds success and they have momentum .

so town need to get a grip with this game right from the start we dont wont to give the home fans anything to cheer about, Payne may be rested after his ankle injury but morris is fit, there has been nothing about Nolan so hopefully it was just a twinge as he left holding his hamstring .

pinch yourself time as town win again. they made a great start really controlling the game , nolan was just running the show the goal machine Payne puts town ahead , he had to go off injured i hope it is not to serious but it gave Oldham time to regroup and get back in the game a well worked goal 1-1.
Oldham made the brighter start Davies was causing town a lot of problems ,Doyle did all the hard work to get past Henderson only to hit the post, town were giving far to many free kicks in our own third and OIldham were wining to many headers .An assist from Rodman as Nolans composure and fast feet put town back in front 1-2.
Oldham went route one town have shown a much better grasp of game management as they run the clock down and go FIVE points clear. Oldham asked some questions and town showed real resilience .
if you bet pre season and start of season Shrewsbury were faviorites to get relegated then went to 33/1 to get promoted and are now 7/1

Another good result and we should enjoy the current success. I do think we have frailties in our game play that will show us up in the long run but lets enjoy the moment!
