gillingham game

Postby zenfootball » Wed Jan 18, 2017 9:12 am

these games tend to have an edge gillingham have lost three games and drawn one of there last four games, i tend to have two ways of looking on this try and beat them when there confidence is low or they might try super hard to stop the losing run, either way if town are to have any chance of staying up these are the games town must win, we have to beat the teams around us,we are on a tightrope we are in a battle to get out of the relegation zone.
we need to replicate the first 45 minute performance against Bradford and the performance against Oldham ,we still need some key players especially another center back and forward
consistency points and a good goal difference wins the prize .

very good news to hear the Mc Givern is fully fit he has been outstanding since Hurst moved him from center back too left back. the p[oints and goal difference is very tight for the bottom teams, town badly need a clean sheet and a win.

a rather uneventful first half was coming to an end when a bog standered route one ball resulted in a goal, the commentatotrs thought that Aristote was decived by the ball moving in the wind.
the second was a very different game with end to end football both teams created a number of chances the gills hit the post and a free kick clipped the top of the bar.
town created more chances in the first ten minutes than the whole of the first half , the gills keeper made a number of saves , the stand out chances was when Rodman through on goal only to hit the post , Roberst skill got him in a position were Rodman headed home , Dodds was ten yards out put hit the ball high , Humphry's persistence lead to a defender making mistake he was free on goal only for him to shoot straight at the keeper .Ogogo ran himself in to the ground in breaking up play and linking up the forward momentum .

Town did well to get back in the game and created chances but when you are in a relegation battle we just cant afford to not put games away when you have the opportunities.the last fifteen minutes the Gills opened up town and missed a number of chances.
A draw on your travels is better than nothing a draw is probably the fair result and town have not lost in four games. however a win would have give town a four point gap between us and Bury, Coventry and Oldham both lost that is how tight it is .
Bury is the next this game it is immense in creating a space between us and them

seen the goals looks as if Aristote just lost his bearings and the ball , everyone makes mistakes and he has really strengthened our deference all credit to Rodman taking a chance to get the second goal.most results also went well Bury seem to have got back on track.
