Bristol rovers game

Postby zenfootball » Wed Dec 14, 2016 7:31 pm

if things were not tough enough towns ranks will be slightly thinner as Toney , Deegan and Al-Abd are suspend , they have had two very tough games and looked leggy towards the end of the Fleetwood game ,Bristol rovers are 9th they seems to have had a slight dip in form as they have won 1 drawn 1 and lost 2 there form on the road is slight weaker than at home however they won there last game by beating Bury 4-2 . Town desperately need points and to stay in contention with the lower clubs our defense will have another reshuffle in defense with Al-Abed suspended we badly missed the injured McGivern at left back.
so far Hurst has gone with Toney been the hold up player so it will be interestingto see how he sorts the holes in the team.

town give us a christmas present by beating a top ten team, keeping clean sheet, winning at home and climbing off the bottom of the table to 21st place .
in the first five minutes we could have been two down as Bristol had a free header and a shoot , town got in the game and pressed hard ,played high up the table , created a number of chances ,town looked the better team , Dodds pounced on a mix up between the Bristol keeper and a defender 1-0 all credit to the team who gave 120% Ebanks - Blake showed his experience he looked to be developing a good understanding with Dodds , the team need to work out what Ebanks - Blake can do he is good withe the ball he can hold up the ball but firing it yards in front of him is not going to work as he has no pace,he needs it to his feet. Brown had a good chance his header produced a reflex save and a shoot blasted across the goal, a number of crosses flashed across goal towns forwards need to gamble

Town were pressed in to there own half despite the pressure Bristol were not creating any clear chances , Town need to work on there game management by just holding on to ball and slow the game down rather than kicking the ball up the park which comes straight back and the defense are not getting a rest , town are improving they are making less mistakes they look more of a unit and keep there shape.
Black blasted the ball in the back of the net from a penalty . Hurst was sent to the stands for kicking the ball away for a free kick he said it was because he felt the Bristol player dived.Bristol created most of the chances down the left side.

we had players from the youth team on the subs bench whilst it is nice to see they are progressing it also a sign of the number of players either injured or suspened.

it was nice hearing the crowd getting behind the team , we have tough games through December and January we need to get the points were can.

What a great game to have had. As you mention we could've been at a disadvantage early on but thankfully we got through that and started to tear a hole in their defense.

They need to do some work.in training to get players ready and running when Brown does his low crosses as he put in plenty across the box. SEB had a very good game, turning players, doing some key passes and also defending up front.

Surprisingly Sadler had a decent game back in lb position and Ogogo was solid n midfield.
