fleetwood fa cup game again

Postby zenfootball » Tue Dec 13, 2016 6:46 pm

so a bit of a groundhog day moment with three league games against top ten teams and a few injuries can Hurst afford to field a full strength team? i hope McGivern is fit otherwise we may struggle on the left side. they know us we know them so can we keep things tight and can we put our chances away.
personally the league is more important to me.

if anyone suffers with insomnia then listening to the first 42 minutes should put most people to sleep.both teams lacked quality in the last third ,town went for numerous kick and hope balls,Toney's inexperience showed as Pond owned him, it was not helped by when he had a half chance a mixture of hesitancy, poor first touch and poor decision making culminated in a poor performance.

Toney and dodds were mainly isolated as town were clearly not going to give fleetwood the space in the last third to repeat what happened in the first game, this resulted in town playing in a narrow channel .
a ball up the park and a horrendous error from the defender Bulgar resulted in O'Brien been free and scored withe the first bit of quality of the game.

El Abed red carded town then have to play most of the half with ten men, O'Brien assist as Dodds scores 0-2 . at a time when town needed to shut up shop , we conceded two soft goals, how many times has a opposition player has acres of room to win a free header ,a route one ball second goal , town are put under the cosh just before full time strident appeals for a town penalty are ignored in the last minutes of the game Fleetwood carve town open 3-2

whilst town were down to ten men , fatigue from a heavy game on Saturday and there poor game management was an extra factor in fleetwoods sustained pressure.
all credit to town for a battling performance but we were two up and lost.
