walsall game

Postby zenfootball » Wed Oct 12, 2016 9:18 am

town are on there travels as they play a team they tend to struggle against, nether teams are pulling up trees Walsall last four games have won 1 drawn 1 lost 2 , town have drawn 3 and lost 1 town are next to bottom and badly need a confidence boosting win whilst Walsall are 7 places above us only 3 pts separate the teams.
you know what you get with Walsall a team with pace who play from the back keep it on the ground and often play 4-4-2
let us hope our acting manager has managed to do something with our leaking defense if not Walsall will punish us , El abed may struggle as he is far from the fastest as usually Walsall have pacey wingers.

another draw will feel like a win as we have a tough mid week home game to follow

Once again the town start the game with two up the middle and no real width, down the middle football, and they have just gone one down, can't wait for a new manager to come in with some new ideas.

a neutral will have enjoyed this game but town start on the back foot as we concede first ,i read somewhere that there is then a 70% of losing the game town manage to get back in the game only to concede another soft goal before half time, Waring was having an impact on the game as town when route one .

The ref was rather card happy and had a negative impact on the game the decision just did not seem to go towns way , we equalized and looked to be building up a head of steam as Walsall were on the ropes , a stupid lack of discipline by McGivern resulted in a red card and the momentum changed both teams had opportunities to put this game away, town had nearly 30 minutes to keep a point when heart-breakingly we concede from a corner there is no excuse to concede from a corner to the near post .
3-2
i would imaging that after all the herculean effort to try and stay in the game and lose so close to the end must be moral sapping on a team already low on confidence, ominously Sheffield utd brushed Vale aside in a 4-0 win

is this the worst defense town have ever had?

the combination of having a catastrophic defense that regularly perform a horror show and the worst disciplinary record in the league is a toxic combination
all towns good work in the second half were at one stage we looked as if we could win was completely undone by the above combination
