Now confirmed that Collins has joined Crawley. It's probably his true level to be honest and I wouldn't be surprised if he does really well for them. Save quite a bit on the wage bill too by the sound of it! Around £3,000 a week. I'm sorry to see him go but realistically he was never quite up to it in League 1.
MM says he is looking for another forward. It will be interesting to see if Barnett stays. He scored against Wolves on Saturday. His style of play was too like Collins' for them both to be effective together but maybe he would do better alongside Leitch-Smith.

Barnett is an asset in terms of his strength, speed and also his defensive capabilities. Just hope the strengthened midfield will give him those goal scoring opportunities.

Now that MM has signed a central defender from Bristol Cty, lets hope he can find another striker, Reuben Reid is looking for a new club.he would be a good signing.

It seems the Barnett situation needs confirming/sorting. It does seem we need a different type of striker if Barnett us not the answer, a tall strong target type of player.

Totally agree, matster. On balance I think I'd like Barnett to stay. And talking of strikers, it was good to see Ethan Jones score the winner against Brum the other night. With careful nurturing I reckon he could be a real nugget in a year or so's time. That will give Town Callum Burton, Dom Smith and Ethan Jones as potentially valuable young players to sell on one day. Not that you'd want that but you have to be realistic these days. The money from Woods and Goldson has made it possible to improve the club's infrastructure no end. I'm sure the new training facilities, for example, will have played a large part in persuading some of the recent signings to put pen to paper. It all looking pretty good to me.

So with Barnett now gone, am I right in thinking we have just three strikers now?

MM has not used the no9 squad number so lets hope he has kept it for another striker to replace Barnett, who looks like he is signing for Wimbledon.

We've now got four goalkeepers on the books as Halstead has signed up for another year. So we have more goalkeepers than strikers.
